London / Green Park

October 02, 2014 by Jonathan Chow in London

Ah England in September, who needs Cali and its overrated sun? Seriously though, all those clouds mean is the air is filled with humidity. Bleh. Moving on...

Not quite the red and gold autumn we were hoping, but the change in seasons was definitely on its way.

Michelle stalking her prey, a poor defenseless squirrel she named "Tinkerbell".

Oh hey, it's one of those grumpy men in funny hats.

Some people really wanted to see the queen.

Oh look! There she is!

How come we couldn't get this Smart car instead?

The first (and only) corgi we've seen in UK! Despite the popularity with the queen's pack, there's shockingly very few of them outside of Buckingham Palace. Why is this one so sad though?

There we go! :D

Our last dinner, eaten at a small chain Muriel's Kitchen. Pretty much the best breaded chicken dinner I've ever had.

Of course had to take a glance at the local Lamborghini showroom. That new Huracan is infinitely better looking than the outgoing Gallardo IMO.

And that's pretty much it for our brief 1 week London trip. Thanks for reading!

London / Trafalgar Square

October 01, 2014 by Jonathan Chow in London

So we're back to National Museum to take a little break. Yeah it's tourist central, but it's still a nice area to see a little of London's sights and artwork.

The entire week this 993 Turbo just sat here right in front of our doorway. Why must you taunt me so!?

One last stop for our last day.

London / Borough Market

October 01, 2014 by Jonathan Chow in London

We decided to spend our last day playing a little tourist but also revisiting some of the places we only visited once before, starting with the amazing Borough Market.

Finally managed to go to one of the hyped coffee chain stores Monmouth. Gotta say, though the line is pretty long, it was some top notch coffee. Not as strong as Blue Bottle, but definitely matching quality in taste.

London / Notting Hill

September 25, 2014 by Jonathan Chow in London

Cute little Nissan Pao. This post will just be some pics taken during one of Michelle's lunch breaks in Notting Hill.

Nothing like a good 'ole Honest Burger. No, seriously, Honest Burgers. They're small, but legit.

London / Dessert Above the Gherkin

September 23, 2014 by Jonathan Chow in London

One of the great things I enjoy about London is my favorite cafe, Timberyard Cafe. The wifi is solid, the seating is plentiful, power is available at nearly every location, traffic is just right between never being dead but never feeling like you'll never get a seat. Oh, and the tea/coffee & food is both great and well priced. Earl Grey and buttered sourdough toast? YES PLEASE!

Spotted this thing on the street we were staying at. Pretty crazy, though I'm not sure about painting a long-nose 901 given their current rising value. Interesting choice with the San Andreas girl from GTA though.

Audi RS6 Plus Avant is a Cosworth tuned, twin turbo V8, six speed manual AWD wagon which is about as rare and awesome as it gets.

One interesting thing about London is since it's relatively flat for an international city, the changes to get above it all and look from a high point is relatively rare.

The dessert was delicious, but next time we go to Duck & Waffle, we definitely want to get either breakfast or brunch. To get, you know, some duck & waffle.

London / Checking out Sloane Street

September 23, 2014 by Jonathan Chow in London

We decided to explore a little south west of London along Sloane, an area that we never really went to before. First though was this lovely little cherry I saw daily while walking with Michelle to work. The car itself isn't too astounding, but the fact that the owner lets it sit curbside the entire week certainly raises an eyebrow. Especially when taken into account the thunder storm with brief pouring rain that occurred Wednesday night.

London / A Brief Tuesday Evening Stroll

September 20, 2014 by Jonathan Chow in London

During the week Michelle and I spent most of the days working, so there wasn't too much exploring at the time, but after we were done we would still stroll around for someplace to grab some food. Here's a few shots of our neighborhood.

It's all about one-upping someone else.

Though you'll always find someone who's untouchable.

Piccadilly Circus, the mini-Times Square.

Invasion of the mediocre American chains!

Oh British Chinatown, why can't LA's be like this? Full of cheap restaurants, markets and bakeries.

The glamorous green hole-in-the-wall on the right has been our go-to spot for cheap Japanese food (and just cheap food in general).

Pork buns all day everyday!

The most hardcore MINI of them all, the John Cooper Works GP.

London / The End of the Beginning

September 20, 2014 by Jonathan Chow in London

Last part of the first day. Such a uplifting coffee chain logo. But hey, the pink makes it cheerful right?

DSC02780.jpg

SoHo is one of those areas that's always busy.

Perhaps it's because of the ChaTime..

Michelle being moody with her milk tea.

Hopped over to Trafalgar Square really quick.

All aboard the ghost bus!

In South Bank there ended up being a mini-carnival complete with drinks, games and rides!

Ok, so it was more like had just one ride, but what a doozy! Even had windshields for the riders, something that's probably very helpful when the temps drop down.
